Tuesday, December 5th

 

Announcements: 

*We are collecting non-perishable items for the food drive. Canned foods, cereal, pastas are welcome! 

*All students are expected to have indoor and outdoor boots, now that the field is extremely muddy and the weather is changing

*A pink, elective form was sent home today with information regarding winter electives in February. Please return by Friday, December 8th

*If you did not get the change to schedule an interview, please contact me via Edsby or email if you'd like to meet.

*Library is every Day 2 of the school cycle from 12-12:20pm

Math

Learning Goal: We are learning to collect continuous, discrete and two-variable data and represent it using an appropriate graph

- Observed what happens when independent and dependent variables are switched on the x and y axis

Homework: 

- Continue working on math package from Friday

Literacy 

Learning Goal: We are learning to write strong paragraphs using proper structure and supporting evidence

- Brainstorming arguments and counterarguments for their topic

- Visited the library for book sign out

- First day of cursive writing foundations and techniques

Homework: 

- Pages 42-45 in Persuasive Essay Package 

- 20 minutes of silent reading


Science

Grade 7's 

- Students worked independently on their invasive specie assignment 

Grade 8's 

- Students explored different organisms during their experimental lab today

- They discovered how to use the microscopes safely and effectively 

Homework

- Gr. 7's continue working on invasive species and at risk species inquiry assignment (click for direct access)

- Gr. 8's Review microscope concepts as their quiz was postponed to Thursday 


Geography

Grade 7's 

- Reviewed climate regions and their characteristics from last class

Grade 8's 

- Independently worked on environmental effects of rising sea levels and their causes 

Homework: 

- Gr 7's continue working on gathering examples of different climate regions (click for direct access)

- Gr 8's complete the rising sea level google slides from today's class (click for direct access)
