Today's Learning/Independent Tasks

Math: Large and Small Numbers 

- Reviewed place value concepts (powers of ten) and how to represent large and small numbers using scientific notation 
- Discussed strategies to convert numbers into scientific notation

Independent Tasks
- Math package questions (set 1-6)


**You are encouraged to take 15 minutes each evening to review the summary notes and add any missed concepts to your math journals/notebooks

History: Creating Canada

- Reviewed key events in Canada's history between 1713-1790
- Students continued creating summary notes based on course material  

Independent Tasks
Lesson 1 (complete by the end of the day)

Literacy: Who Am I Culminating Task

- Students used the period to work on their culminating tasks which requires them to summarize all their findings regarding this personality, learning styles, interests etc...

Independent Tasks
Culminating Task (you will have time to work on this during each literacy period)

Art: Aluminum Sculpture

- Learned how to use aluminum foil to create sculptures students will then mould into an action that represents their identity

Independent Tasks
- Aluminum Sculpture (all tasks were completed in class)

Science: Intro to cell theory and uni/multicellular organisms

- Brainstormed characteristics of living and non living things 
- Learned the 3 postulates of Cell theory and compared/contrasted similarities and differences of unicellular and cellular organisms

Independent Tasks
- Use the classroom materials and resources to review today's concepts 
- Review the 3 parts of cell theory and the differences between uni/multicellular organisms
