* Grade 8 trip to Dr. G.W. Williams tomorrow. Students are encouraged to just bring a snack and/or a water bottle on the trip. They will eat their lunch when they arrive at school around 12:30pm.

* We recognize that some students will come to school on October 31 in costume. Please remember that costumes should be respectful of others.

- Symbols or objects representative of a person’s race, culture, ethnicity, or religious beliefs, should not be worn as another person’s costume, nor should costumes that caricature social identities through stereotyping. 

-Be sensitive to images and media use. 

- No Halloween masks are to be worn No replica weapons of any kind are allowed. 

- Students should only use single use make-up (sharing of make-up is not recommended)

2. Our class partnered with Ms. Yang's grade 1/2 class today, and the students did an amazing job with their buddies!

3. Students went home with their math assessment (number sense quiz) last week. Please ensure the rubric is signed and returned as soon as possible, for documenting purposes. 

4. Students were sent home with their school photo download and package purchase sheet last week. Use the passcode to access your child's photos

Monday, October 23rd

 Announcements: 

1. Groove dance has commenced this week. The students will participate in 3 dance workshops throughout the week at different times, and during different periods. 

2. Grade 8 visit to Dr. G.W. Williams Secondary School is on Wednesday November 1st, 2023. A blue permission form was sent home today. Please return as soon as possible. 

3. Our class has partnered with Ms. Yang's grade 1/2 class for leadership opportunities, which commence this week. The 7/8s will be paired with a grade 1 or 2 student, and throughout the year, they will meet with their buddy on a monthly basis. Leadership opportunities may include reading with their buddy or supporting in subject areas like math or science.
