Math

- We are learning to use fractions, decimals and percentages

- Students discussed the relationship between each and how they all represent part of a whole

Independent Tasks

- Continue keeping an eye out for stock updates (check the news/stock trends)

- 10-15 minute review of today's concepts (take/create summary notes)


Literacy

- Read their novels for reading comprehension unit

- Engaged in a group activity where students read picture books to discover the theme, purpose and intended audience by using evidence from the text

- Making connections and re-imagining characters in their novel to foster critical thinking skills

Independent Tasks

- Narrative writing Day 1 and Day 2 slides (click for direct access)

- Read required pages of novel (if you didn't complete today in class)

- 10-15 minute review of today's concepts (take/create summary notes)

- Reading Comprehension Package: Pages 14-16, 18-19


History

- Played jeopardy trivia to review all the concepts from lessons 1-4

Independent Tasks

- Prepare for next class by reading the paragraph Indigenous People and Confederation
-- Use the Canadian Encyclopedia link and scroll to the appropriate paragraph
